The villa was built from 1868 to 1870 as a two-storey late classical tower villa. The architect was Ernst Petzholtz. The reconstruction and modernization of the registered monument "Villa Henckel" includes the historical repair of the building and the change of use of a former nursing home to a private art school. A particular emphasis is placed on the restoration of the stately, two-storey entrance hall as well on historical reconstruction of the "Golden Hall" in the middle of the building.
